Aside from the wonderful restaurants, bars, and craft places to visit, Padstow harbour also offer something for the sea faring fan! Padstow was, after all, a fishing port before it became the popular tourist attraction that it is today.
When you’re not enjoying the walks, views, seafood, wine, local gin, craft workshops, and of course the ice cream – why not get out on the water?
Enjoying the fishing, the sights, smells, and the sea air is highly recommended. Why would you come down to the coast, to a fishing town, and not experience all it has to offer?
Padstow has so much to offer that you’ll find you’ll want to come back again and again and again… just like we did!
Here are our top five favourite activities to do in Padstow harbour on the water.
Padstow speedboats
If you fancy an adrenaline rush, then how about hiring a speed boat and getting to see Padstow in a different way?
Paula remembers going on these boats when she was about 4 years old and some of the same fantastic crew still run the boats today. That’s, well, a long time in business! Setting off from the Harbour on daily trips, Padstow Boat Trips can take you out on the water for a fun time on one of their four speed boats - Thunder, Fireball XL5, Jaws and Sea Fury. Great fun!

Trips last 90 minutes and on board you have drinks which includes a full array of Sharpes Brewery goodies! There are toilets on board too. They welcome dogs and ‘little sailors’ and they even have some special events, so if you’re lucky enough to be down here at the right time – get aboard. You can see puffins, and if you’re very lucky, dolphins.
Pre-booking is essential for this very popular daily, summer boat trip.

Sealife safaris
The sealife safaris offer something for the speed or sealife and animal lover.
There are four options with the Seallife Safaris, and we’ll share two with you here.
The first is their one-hour speedboat trip. This fast and exhilarating experience will show you the granite cliffs, rocky coves, headlands, and more all on a high-speed boat.
If you’re really into seeing the wildlife though, the two-hour, 30 knots (25mph) trip will show you seals, dolphins, porpoises, sunfish, basking sharks, shags, cormorants, gannets, oystercatchers, shearwaters, fulmars and more! Well worth the trip.
They’re great fun and offer sights that you’ll rarely see thanks to these experienced sea explorers.
