Padstow and the Cornish coast offers many things to do while you’re down here enjoying yourself and relaxing. From walks to dog-friendly activities, craft workshops and even food workshops with some of the great restaurants and chefs that are located down here.
But there’s one hugely exciting industry in Padstow that connoisseurs will love, and that’s wine tasting, wineries, and tours.
The Cornish coast is home to some fabulous and award-winning wineries. And if wine isn’t your tipple there are some nearby gin distilleries, cider mills, and breweries too!
From the well-known Camel Valley wines to the Michelin starred Trevibban Mill, there are plenty of places to visit and of course to taste the fruits of their labour (literally) if you’re into your wine.
Here’s your wine tasting hit list for your stay in Padstow.
Camel Valley wines
Camel Valley is a real success story in Cornwall. The husband and wife team bought a farm and wondered whether the land could grow vines. After learning the skills in Germany, they set up the farm with the best equipment and have been producing wines here since 1989.
They run regular tours of their fabulous farm and tastings of their award-winning wines:
· ‘Grand Tour and Tastings’ are currently every Wednesday evening at 5.00pm from April and October. Additional tours at 5.00pm on Thursdays are added throughout the busy August period.
· ‘Guided Tours’ are currently at 2.30pm, Monday-Friday, from April to September.

Trevibban Mill Vineyard and Orchards
Trevibban is right next to Padstow and tucked away down a campion-lined Cornish lane. The vineyard is accompanied by a striking contemporary building that hosts a Michelin Starred restaurant, Appleton’s at the Vineyard.
They offer four options depending on the experience you want. From ‘Drinks at the Bar’ to wine tasting, tours and guided tours, there’s plenty to whet your appetite from this truly unique and picturesque venue.

The bar is open for casual drop-ins where you can sample the wines but if you’re looking for something more official then check out:
· Wine Sampling at the Winery (February to December).
· Guided Tours at the Winery (Sundays at 12pm, April to September).
